The Annual Winter Springs Celebration of Freedom

Celebration of Freedom | Winter Springs | Modern Plumbing Industries, Inc.This July 4th is the 2012 annual Winter Springs Celebration of Freedom. Modern Plumbing Industries Inc. will be one of the sponsors for the fireworks show, and we encourage everyone in the area to come out and enjoy this day of family fun. The celebration will be held from 5pm to 9:30pm at Central Winds Park on State Road 434 in Winter Springs. The event will be hosted by Arnie Nussbaum, with musical performers Ennis Pruitt and the Breakers along with surprise guests. There will be a local talent competition, a kids area with games and of course a spectacular fireworks presentation choreographed to music.

Memorial Day Weekend in Central Florida

We wish everyone a very enjoyable Memorial Day Weekend. There are lots of activities and ways to commemorate the holiday here in Central Florida.

Memorial Day and Peace Pole Dedication Ceremony: Starting at 11am the City of Ocoee will honor fallen troops at its annual Memorial Day Ceremony on May 28 at Bill Breeze Park.

Memorial Day Salute: This free event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on May 29 at Cypress Grove Park, Orlando. Attendees are encourages to bring picnics and blankets and enjoy guest speakers, military displays, and a posting of the colors.

Memorial Day Weekend: Memorial Day Concert: A classic concert featuring the DSC Symphonic Band and Concert Choir, to be held at the Daytona Beach Bandshell.

Memorial Day Parade: The town of Sanford will be honoring current American soldiers and Veterans with a parade through downtown Sanford. The parade will begin at 10am on May 28th.

ABC National Craft Championships

Modern Plumbing Industries, Inc. would like to congratulate our talented employee  Jeremiah Arredondo. Jeremiah won the local competition through the PIPE Apprenticeship program.  As winner of the local competition he will be traveling with Anthony Bracco to compete in the National Craft Championship in San Antonio, Texas.  The competition will be part of the 2012 Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) EdCon & Expo that will be held April 24-27.  The championships are a two day event featuring a written and practical portion where Jeremiah will be competing against the best apprentices in the country!  We wish you the best of luck Jeremiah and are proud to have you representing not only Modern Plumbing Industries, but also the local PIPE Apprenticeship program!

The ABC National Craft Championships is an intense event with 12 competitions in 10 crafts, ” For many ABC members, the National Craft Championships is the highlight of the year. Craft trainees from chapter and member firm training programs across the country come together to compete in an intense two-day event that turns a convention center into an active construction site, in which craftworkers use their skills and knowledge to compete head-to-head with their peers to be recognized for their construction achievements”.

Modern Plumbing Industries, Inc. Supports Building Home for Heroes

Building Homes for Heroes is a National Charity working to build or remodel custom homes nationwide with a large presence in central Florida. BHFH provides individuals, corporations and others with an opportunity to help our severely wounded and disabled veterans and their families rebuild their lives. Many of these young men and women are coming home badly burned, with permanent body disfigurements, missing limbs, the loss of sight or ability to walk, psychiatric conditions or paralysis. Building Homes for Heroes is committed to supporting these extraordinary men and woman, with a goal to build homes for families in dire need. We believe that it’s our responsibility to support those who have been called upon to make the ultimate personal sacrifice – to protect and safeguard our country by fighting America’s War on Terror.

In partnership with the charity Building Homes for Heroes, Modern Plumbing Industries, Inc. has donated time and services to help build 2 homes for severely-wounded veterans of the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan and has donated to the current construction of a home for Army Specialist Robert BJ Jackson.

This year will mark the 3rd annual Building Homes For Heroes Ocoee St. Patrick’s Day Festival fundraising event. The Ocoee Professional Firefighters are collecting sponsorship for this event, to learn more or to donate please contact them. We encourage others to support the cause in any way that they can.
