November 10th will be the City of Orlando’s 2012 Veterans Day Parade. This patriotic event and Veterans Day events everywhere honor the bravery and courage of our country’s military. Whether they be veterans or servicemen and women, we will all take the day to thank, commemorate and honor our troops.

Modern Plumbing Industries, Inc. encourages everyone to get involved in Breast Cancer Awareness Month. There are many local events to help support the fight against breast cancer and raise awareness. The Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation will be having numerous events throughout Central Florida. The Pink Out Winter Park event was held on September 9th and businesses throughout the area continue to raise awareness, “Participating Park Avenue and Hannibal Square retailers will offer Pink Out apparel, merchandise, food, and beverages with proceeds from sales benefiting the Winter Park Memorial Hospital Mammography Scholarship Fund” . Trek Women and David’s World Cycle will also be sponsoring the Breast Cancer Awareness Ride on Saturday, Oct. 13.
Next weekend, on Saturday, August 25th Modern Plumbing Industries, Inc. will be playing in the March of Dimes 20th Annual Mudd Volleyball Challenge charity event. Our team, the Modern Mudd Makers will playing and raising money to support the March of Dimes’ fight against infant mortality, premature birth and birth defects. In 2011 over 166 corporate teams participated in the event and raised over $165,000. Name of Product: Flushmate® III Pressure-Assist Flushing System
Description: This recall is for Series 503 Flushmate® III Pressure Assist flushing systems installed inside toilet tanks. The recalled systems were manufactured from October 1997 to February 2008. The units are rectangular, black, two-piece vessels made of injection molded plastic. The date code/serial number is 16 characters long and is located on the label on the top of the Flushmate III. The first six numerals of the serial number are the date code. The date code range for this recall begins with 101497 (October 14, 1997) and continues through 022908 (February 29, 2008).
Hazard: The system can burst at or near the vessel weld seam releasing stored pressure. This pressure can lift the tank lid and shatter the tank, posing impact or laceration hazards to consumers and property damage.
Remedy: Consumers should immediately turn off the water supply to the recalled Flushmate III unit and stop using the system. Consumers should contact the firm to determine if their Flushmate III serial number is included in the recall and to request a free repair kit.

nford Art Walk hosted by the Historic Sanford Welcome Center. Central Florida artists will be featured, along with live music and food. The event is free and open to the public. Beginning at 6pm, the Art Walk winds through historic downtown Sanford. The Art Walk occurs every fourth Friday of each month. This month’s theme is “Breakable” – A tribute to all things breakable, broken or pieced back together.
